Gelix WP

Gelix WP - Insta Water Proof

Gelix WP is a styrene, butadiene and rubber based bitumen supplied as a brown liquid which dries to form a black flexible coating.

Uses

Surface Areas
Concrete DPC • Roof Top • Septic Tank • Water Storage tank • Toilet • Kitchen Lift Pits etc.
Iron & Steel Covered and uncovered TMT • Cast Asbestos & Iron Pipes • GC / GP Sheet • Angle and Joist.

Applications

  • Stirring: Stir the contents of the drum thoroughly before application.
  • Priming: It is highly recommended to apply a priming coat.
  • Allow primer to get absorbed on surface.
  • Apply second coat.
  • Allow surface to dry. (Depends on environmental temperature)
  • Render a plaster.
  • Paint colour of your choice on plaster surface.

Water flooding test

Water flooding test should be done on the waterproofing membrane after it has fully cured for 48 hours. Use about 15cm water for 8 hours or leave overnight. Check for leaks on the walls and the underside of the applied area for leaks (check from the floor below). If leak is found, note its location, remove ponded water, dry out as much as possible and recoat the affected areas with one more coat. If no leakage is detected in the flows and walls, proceed with surfacing.
